Sally made chili and entered it in a chili contest that was being held as part of Kids First Academy(Camanche) Family Fun night, held at Gils in Clinton. Bob and Paul were on hand to help her dish up the chili so that it could be judged. They all handed out flyers and business cards in an effort to make people in Clinton and surrounding areas aware of our group. Please look at the Gallery Page for pictures from this event!

  Ghost Hunter: For all intents and  purposes is someone who
Hunts ghosts right? That is the defining question. Do we hunt ghosts or do
ghosts hunt us? As we know from all the paranormal programs out there that
ghosts rarely work on cue and the eager investigator may (or may not )end
up with a clear evp at the end of the night or an amazing picture of a full
body apparition.  With a little lucky  for our efforts we may catch a quick
 glimpse of a human shape in the flir camera or on a real good night the
shadow people may let themselves be seen, but hide just at the edge of
darkness and shy away at every attempt to communicate. The main thing that
defines us as hunters of ghosts is how we present ourselves to the client
as well as our brethren in the field. Personal satisfaction that our team
may boast the most pics or the most evps on our website is a real badge of
honor of course, but something that is often lost in the midst is the fact
that we are all people, we will return home to our family that evening and
enjoy the comfort of others. As we investigate with the living it should
always be in our hearts and minds that the ones we hunt will never walk the
path that we do ever again.

Paranormal research is based upon the theory that life goes on even after
death. From the beginning of recorded history Spirits, Apparition’s and
Ghost’s have been seen by people of all religious faiths and from all
walks of life. With the beginning of the technological age these echo’s
of the past have been captured on both audio and video recording devices as
well as still pictures taken with both digital camera uploaded to a
computer and film cameras that when developed show an unknown presence that
you're sure was not there before. Our ability to see the world around us is
limited by what our eyes are able to relay to our brain and sometimes we
are not aware that the light we see or the sounds we hear are just a small
part of the natural world that surrounds us. The devices used to capture
such Ghostly images and sounds operate on many different levels of the
spectrum in both light and sound,and sometimes the hereafter passes in
between. Evp (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) are the voices in the background
of some recordings that may call out for help,answer questions, or advise
you to hastily leave the place they once called home.The way we hear
everyday sounds is that our ears pick up all the sounds around us and then
translate this information into a form your brain can understand. One of
the most remarkable things about this process is that it is completely
mechanical. Your sense of smell, taste and vision all involve chemical
reactions, but your hearing system is based solely on physical movement.
The theory of electronic recording and evps is that the method of recording
is based on electricity and magnets,for example the magnet your voice
passes over through a microphone may be close to the frequency an evp is
captured thus leaving its imprint on the recording device either
electronic(digital)or Tape(analog),both devices use electromagnetic
microphones.The same may be said with spirit photographs,the light we see
and the light that a camera translates into a picture also varies.The light
we see with our eyes lays between the infrared and the ultraviolet spectrum
and is called visible light, by using a prism visible light can be observed
as being  Blue, Yellow, Red and Green the light on either side of that can
only be seen with the aide of a device designed to operate on this
frequency the F.L.I.R  camera (forward looking infrared) is designed to see
in the infrared spectrum.Some animals also see in the infrared spectrum
such as some reptiles.Pets such as dogs and cats have also been reported to
be highly sensitive to paranormal activity and may in fact may be able to
see things us humans can not.

Thinking your house may be haunted can be a scary thing! But
keep in mind that a spirit is just a person without a body. Not there to
hurt you, just to get your attention and maybe some help. If you think your
house may be haunted, here is a list of possible signs. .

Do you hear unexplained noises? Footsteps? Heavy breathing? Do
these happen when you are the only one home?

Do lights turn on and off on their own? Do you leave a room, then
come back and the light is on? Or the opposite, lights being off when you
know you turned them on?

Do you have furniture move, or doors open and close by themselves?

Do you have items disappearing, then reappearing hours or maybe
days later? Do you put something down, and then come back and it’s gone?
Or put in another location?

Have you ever noticed a spot in your home that is unexplainably
colder than anywhere else?

Do you ever experience a feeling of being watched? Or the feeling
that someone else is in a room with you when you know you are alone? Do you
have pets that act oddly about a room or spot in your house? A pet that
refuses to go in a room?

Have you ever encountered any out of place odors? Perfume or
sulfur?

Have you ever heard unexplainable whispering, shouting, or heavy
breathing?

Have you ever had your hair or clothes tugged with no visible
culprit?

Have you ever seen a shadow that can’t be explained or figured out?

Have you ever seen an apparition?

The most overt sign would be an actual physical assault. Have you ever
been pushed or shoved by someone or something you can’t see? 

If you start to notice anything you can’t explain or figure out, try
keeping a journal and writing down every experience. Try to find real world
reasons for any phenomena you experience. Faulty plumbing, loose or uneven
floorboards, loose hinges on doors, things like that. And try to keep in
mind; ghosts very rarely hurt people, so try not to be too afraid!

 One of the strangest, yet unproven, phenomenon that occurs in the
world of the paranormal is object attachment.  It is believed that people
can attach their residual energy to a favorite object such as a chair,
desk, table, etc...  There have been cases out there where people have
experienced paranormal activity shortly after purchasing an antique.  In
most cases this activity is residual, but in some, intelligent hauntings
followed.  An example of this could be someone purchases what they think is
an antique vase, they get it to their home, and suddenly paranormal
activity starts happening in thier home.  What they have actually purchased
was an urn.  People have been known to sell urns to consignment and antique
shops after the contents have been emptied.  Museums can also be places
where activity occurs due to object attachment.  In an episode of Ghost
Hunters, TAPS visits a museum that had an exhibit containing artifacts from
the Titanic.  Since the exhibit went up, the museum had been experiencing
all kinds of strange occurrences.  It was concluded by TAPS that they
believed the artifacts may contain the residual energy of the souls who
perished on the ship.  So the next time you think of purchasing an antique,
consider the fact that you may be bringing a ghost into your home.

Conditions that seem to help these paranormal events are ones that influence the earth’s magnetic field including solar flares, geomagnetic storms and full moons.  During the conditions that charge up the earth’s electromagnetic field, it is thought that the ghost can tap into the extra energy .

Solar Flares

Extra solar activity in the form of solar flares affects the earth’s geomagnetic field. Some great paranormal evidence has been collected during times when there is solar activity such as mega flares and geomagnetic storms. Conditions where either an M Class flare, X Class flare or a Mega Flare has occurred are ripe for ghost investigations. When the geomagnetic field either indicates an unsettled or storm condition that is another good time for paranormal investigations.

Full Moon

Lunar phases also affect the earth’s geomagnetic field. The earth’s electromagnetic field is affected when the moon is closer such as when it is full. People and paranormal activity are both influenced when the gravitational force is affected during a full moon.

Thunderstorms

It is believed that during a thunderstorm a higher vibration frequency is reached by both the living and the not so living, which can make the odds a bit better for somebody to spot a ghost.

Solstice and Equinox

It is also believed that the solstice and equinoxes that occur every year present more opportune times for paranormal investigation. This is not based on science; it is because cultures from around the world believe that the solstice and equinoxes are a supernaturally important time.
