BACKGROUND

After the investigation last week with two teams, it was decided to try one more investigation with a core team of five people. This would allow us to stay together to avoid any noise contamination that might be caused by two teams working in an empty house.

THE INVESTIGATION

The investigation took place on Saturday, January 31st at 6:30PM. Members present were Becky, Rick, Diana, Stephanie, and Sally.

When the team arrived at the residence, there was a problem with the front door. All members tried to open the door, but although the key turned, the lock seemed to be jammed. Finally, just before we decided to try the back door, Sally and Diana were turning the key and jiggling the handle and suddenly it seemed as though the door easily opened with no force. Rick was later able to recreate the same experience. As we entered the house, Becky thought she heard a thump from somewhere inside.

The investigation started on the main floor in the dining room just off the kitchen. We set out our equipment which included EMF detectors, voice recorders, digital cameras, flashlights, and a video camera. Sally brought along a baby doll and a toy telephone; we would use these items to try to communicate with the spirit of the small girl that we felt might reside in the home. Rick brought along a list of Hebrew phrases and Diana and tried to read some of them. The group caught EVPs of a male voice speaking in Hebrew in an earlier investigation, and we thought we would try communicating in the same language.

It was very cold in the house, much colder than the temperature outside for some reason, as we did not use temperature gauges.

After doing some EVP work in the kitchen, the group went into the girl’s bedroom; the first bedroom on the right. We placed the toy phone on the bed and a toy stroller next to the bed. EVP work was conducted and we told the spirit to feel free to play with the items. Rick left his voice recorder in the bedroom, and we decided to head to the basement. Throughout the investigation, digital photos were taken and video was shot.

In the basement, an EMF sweep was conducted to check for any high electrical readings. Sally set the baby doll on top of some computer monitors, thinking that it might entice the spirit to communicate more with the group. The group formed a circle around the room, and the K2 meter was placed next to the doll. We asked the spirit to move next to the meter to light up the lights in response to our questions. We determined that a light would mean “yes” and no light would signify “no.” We seemed to receive responses to the following questions:

Can you make the lights light up?
Can you light it up again?
Can you light it if you are here?
Are you an adult?
Are you a woman?
Do you want us to stay?
Do you want the family to stay away?
Are you over the age of ten?
Are you over the age of 30?

More questions were asked, but the responses ceased. Before we left the basement, we did EVP sessions and EMF sweeps of the laundry room, storage room, and basement bedroom. A voice recorder was left in the basement.

Next we visited the top floor, starting with the bedroom. When we placed the K2 meter and CellSensor in the middle of the floor, the both showed high readings. We assumed that there were probably wires or light fixtures on the ceiling on the ground floor. We placed both meters far away from any disturbance, and began an EVP session. We seemed to receive some response from the K2 meter when questions were asked. When it was requested that the presence move closer to the meter to make it light up, there was a response several times. The group then took turns asking if “it” wanted us to leave or if “it” liked us and wanted us to stay. There were responses to Stephanie and Diana’s inquiries that it wanted them to leave. When we stated that the group was going down stairs, there was a grumbling noise heard. It was stated again that the group was going downstairs and there was a noise from the bathroom. Rick and Sally went into the bathroom and saw that there were some papers that could’ve fallen onto the floor from the sink, but they could not determine the cause. We did some EMF sweeps of the bathroom and the three crawlspaces before returning downstairs.

Back on the main floor, Sally and Diana took the CellSensor and K2 meter to all the light fixtures to see if they would give off a reading. They could not detect high readings of any kind. We again read some of the Jewish phrases and then decided to split into two teams and briefly go into the other rooms.

Stephanie, Diana, and Becky went to the basement to retrieve equipment and do another brief EVP session. Sally and Rick went into the boy’s bedroom. They asked several questions, but neither felt anything in this room. Next they went to the girl’s bedroom, where the digital camera had an unexpected malfunction, but was soon working again. Stephanie, Diana, and Becky came back upstairs and asked Rick and Sally if they would go into the basement to see if they could hear any noises. They stated that they had heard noises while in the basement, and wanted confirmation. Rick and Sally went downstairs for a short time, but nothing was heard. The investigation concluded at about 9:30PM.

CONCLUSION

Several members reported personal experiences. We heard noises in the basement and the upstairs bathroom. We also seemed to get responses to our questions by using the K2 meter. Some members experienced light-headedness, and a creepy feeling. We were very surprised when we left the house to find that the temperature outside was so much warmer than that inside.

As the family no longer resides in the house, we probably will not be doing another investigation unless the situation changes. We definitely feel there is something going on in this house, but nothing of a threatening or harmful nature.

We received the following note from the home owner:

Thanks Rick, wow the  one where Stephanie acknowledged the bead getting thrown at  her the last time ,  you have it as  a  distortion, almost sounds like it is mad and whispering something to her. And the one that is marked hello, almost sounds like a “I don’t know”
The Rattle also very creepy!
Very interesting though.
You know anyone who is interested in buying a haunted house. LOL!
Any way I appreciate everything you  all have done, It was really nice to know that my family and I are not all going crazy!
