I have been seriously interested in the paranormal for about 5 years. It all started with a trip to the Bell Witch Cave in Adams, Tennessee, and from there I was hooked. I am one of the 3 co-founders of MVP, which was created in December 2007. My favorite part of investigating is listening to the audio afterwards, to see if I can hear any EVPs. My best paranormal experience was when some members of our group went to Villisca, Iowa over night. That was a truly amazing experience; everything from shadows, footsteps, whistles, and EMF responses to questions.

I’ve been interested in the paranormal since I was little, when I watched shows like the classic “Sightings” and “Unsolved Mysteries.” I’m more interested in the scientific and technical aspects of an investigation, and as such don’t tend to believe in “psychics” or “sensitives;” I only believe in things that I see and hear myself.

I’ve been interested in the paranormal honestly as far back as I can remember. Even the books I read when I was ten years old were “scary”… ones like “The Scariest Stories to Tell in the Dark” and “True Ghost Stories” and several variations of that. I cannot remember one single event when I was young that happened to make me truly focus on the unexplained side of life (other than some weird things happening in my old house), but I do remember it always being a part of me since, oh… birth.
I have not had extensive training from seminars or classes in ghost hunting or in the paranormal per say, but I do have extensive knowledge from my own research and others’ stories growing up. Although I am a healthy skeptic I do believe indefinitely that there is something beyond our understanding and that sometimes you can tap into it… or whatever it is can tap into you.

I have been interested in the paranormal for as long as I can remember. My purpose for joining MVP is to learn and discover as much information about the paranormal in a professional environment as I can. I have always had a genuine desire to help other people by sharing knowledge and to be able to combine that with my own interest in the paranormal is exciting to me. I do consider myself to be a skeptic in that I feel that any activity that is happening needs to try to be explained as something that can happen naturally. When thing are found that can’t be explained it’s just simply interesting.

I have been interested in the paranormal since my first experience with what I believe to have been a very negative spirit, which appeared as a young boy at a friend’s apartment. I have done some paranormal investigations with a friend, cemeteries mostly. I have participated in a couple of investigations with another group, but joined Mississippi Valley Paranormal because they were closer to where I live. I have a good knowledge of the paranormal, always reading or studying on-line or in books. But the main reason I joined MVP is because I want to help others understand what is happening to them, whether it is natural or paranormal.

My interest in the paranormal and the unexplained started several years ago when I interviewed a man in Farmer City, Illinois about a Bigfoot sighting for a 4th grade school report. I was also amazed by my Grandmothers reports of the spirit of someone who had hung themselves in a farmhouse where she lived in which several people had claimed to have seen and heard the spirit walking down the stairs. Over the past several years I have spent a lot of time traveling to supposed Haunted locations on my own such as Bell Witch Cave in TN, Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville,KY, McPike Mansion in Alton,IL, Coral Castle in Homestead FL, Roswell,NM and spent a brief time as a field investigator for M.U.F.O.N the Mutual UFO Network in Southern Illinois.

I have been interested in the paranormal for as long as I can remember. My dad got me into it. I discovered MVP and went to a meeting and was hooked! I’ve always believed in the idea of ghosts and spirits and am glad to be a part of proving their existence! Investigating paranormal sites is something I think you have to really be dedicated to and willing to be scared! I love it!

I have had a few experiences in my life that some may say were linked to the paranormal but I always tried to have a logical explanation to make it fit my perception of normal. Over the years I heard more and more stories, experiences, insight of people I respected and trusted in regards to episodes of paranormal activity. I guess with age comes the ability to accept differing views and a willingness to investigate things that previously I disregarded and with the onslaught of paranormal investigation shows I finally decided to vest some dedicated time to seeing what may be on the other side.
I was happy to find this group and in a short amount of time I felt comfortable around these fellow members and I could see that they all had similar backgrounds in regards to why they decided to investigate this unknown phenomenon and didn’t mind having some fun as the job was done.
I am learning the ropes of investigation and still am a beginner in it all, but I am eager to learn and hope someday I can contribute as much as the others .

Since I was young I have had experiences that I could never explain. It always seemed like "otherworldly" things were drawn to me. Always keeping my interest in the field alive and well, I kept my eyes open for any new encounters that might occur. In 2005 I joined the Wabash Paranormal Investigation and Research Group (WPIRG), after getting an advertisement attached to a piece of candy my child received on Halloween. I investigated several sites over the next 2 years and attended training in Demonology and Audio Analysis at Univ-Con in Pennsylvania. It was there that I met a lot of good friends in the paranormal field. In 2007, I relocated to the Quad Cities for work. It was there that my co-workers gave me an article announcement for Mississippi Valley Paranormal (MVP). I contacted MVP and they welcomed me into the group. We did some investigations and eventually left for Villisca, Iowa where I experienced one of my top 5 paranormal experiences. Shortly after I had to leave the group for life reasons but recently re-joined my group of friends to investigate the paranormal, and to help others.
